VFCore RB — Blood Care Complex for Dogs & Cats

Anaemia in pets is far more common than most pet parents realise — and far more dangerous than it sounds. When your pet's red blood cell count drops, oxygen delivery to every organ in the body drops with it. Pale gums, weakness, rapid breathing, lethargy, and exercise intolerance are classic signs, but anaemia often goes undetected until a routine blood test reveals a low PCV or haematocrit. The cause might be obvious (heavy tick or flea infestation, internal parasites, surgical blood loss) or hidden (chronic kidney disease, cancer, immune-mediated disease, internal bleeding). Whatever the cause, recovery requires the same thing: a steady, well-absorbed supply of iron and the supporting nutrients that turn it into haemoglobin.

VFCore RB is built around superior-absorption iron chemistry. Most iron supplements use ferrous sulphate or other inorganic iron salts — cheap, but poorly absorbed and notorious for causing nausea, vomiting, dark stools, constipation, and stomach upset. VFCore RB uses Ferrous Amino Acid Chelate — iron molecularly bound to amino acids — which is absorbed 2–3× more efficiently in the small intestine, with dramatically fewer gastrointestinal side effects. The same applies to the Copper Amino Acid Chelate in the formula: copper is essential for iron metabolism, and the chelated form ensures consistent uptake.

But iron alone doesn't make red blood cells. The bone marrow needs Folic Acid for DNA synthesis during RBC production, Vitamin B12 as a cofactor in red cell maturation, Vitamin C to enhance iron absorption and convert ferric to absorbable ferrous form, and Vitamin E to protect red cells from oxidative damage. VFCore RB delivers all of these in a single sachet — recreating the complete haematopoietic nutrient matrix the body needs to rebuild blood efficiently.

Recovery from anaemia also takes energy. Anaemic pets are tired, sluggish, and often eating poorly. L-Carnitine 25mg supports energy metabolism at the mitochondrial level, helping fatigued pets regain strength while their blood values recover. The complete B-Complex (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B12) supports overall metabolic recovery, and Vitamin K ensures normal clotting function during periods of blood replenishment.

The lickable paste format is particularly important in anaemia management. Iron tablets are notoriously hard on the stomach and create compliance issues. VFCore RB's chelated form is much gentler, and the palatable paste base means pets accept it readily. It can be given alongside meals and even alongside anti-parasitic medications, making it ideal for treating anaemia caused by heavy worm or tick burdens where deworming and blood support need to happen simultaneously.

VFCore RB is indicated across multiple clinical scenarios: iron-deficiency anaemia following blood loss; during and after anti-parasitic treatment for heavy flea, tick, or worm infestations; post-surgery and post-blood-donation recovery; anaemia of chronic disease secondary to kidney disease, cancer, or chronic liver disease; and pregnant and lactating females with elevated iron and folic acid demands.

The formula is part of the Lyra Division therapeutic supplement line — vet-formulated, clinically dosed, and safe for daily use. Pair with VFCore AA for muscle recovery alongside blood recovery.

Quick Improvements You’ll Notice

You'll start to notice the difference within 2–3 weeks. Most pet parents report the first change is digestion — firmer stools, less bloating, no more post-meal discomfort. By week 3–4, the coat visibly improves: less shedding, more shine. The Ashwagandha tends to show up in calmer behaviour in nervous or hyperactive dogs. And the energy difference — that one speaks for itself.
